World Environment Day

5 June 2024

Comserv proudly contributed to environmental preservation by donating and planting trees at three schools across Mozambique. This initiative took place in the provinces of Maputo (10 trees), Beira (6 trees), and Nampula (6 trees) and aimed to raise awareness among school communities, particularly children, about the critical importance of conserving the environment and the vital role that plants and trees play in ensuring sustainability.

The activities were conducted simultaneously on June 5th at the following schools: Mathemele Complete Primary School (EPC) in Maputo, in partnership with the Repensar Cooperative; Airport Basic School in Beira; and Lusaka Agreements Complete Primary School in Nampula.

The key activities included:
– Educating students on environmental conservation and planting trees such as casuarinas and mango trees.
– Supplying waste disposal drums to the Airport Basic School in Beira.
– Providing snacks (biscuits and juices) to the children.

These efforts are closely aligned with Comserv’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) strategy, which focuses on sustainable development and community engagement. By fostering environmental awareness among the younger generation, we are contributing to our broader vision of building resilient communities that value and protect their natural surroundings. Comserv’s commitment to its core values of responsibility, sustainability, and community well-being is reflected in every aspect of this initiative.
