01 October 2026. New 15-year concession – Sihamba Sonke Mobility (SSM) – brings together South African investors and leading global rail expertise to operate, maintain and refurbish one of the country’s most significant public transport assets.
SSM consortium appointed to operate the Gautrain for the next 15 years .
16 October 2026. A consortium comprising the AIIM-Motseng JV, Alstom, RATP Dev, GIBB-Crede, AIH Connect and SSM InvestCo – has been appointed as operator of passenger rail company Gautrain for the next 15 years.
